Illustrative Local Dollars demo

Demo Town Dollar

See how a sponsor-funded shop-local program can establish reusable economic infrastructure: one merchant network, one participant cohort, configurable rules, and evidence that can support the next program without rebuilding from scratch.

Interactive walkthrough

Launch one program. Keep the network for the next one.

This illustrative Demo Town program shows the part Stabletown is designed to own: the program rules, participant and merchant network, operating record, and measurement. The payment or acceptance rail is selected to fit the community rather than defining the product.

1

Fund the program

A sponsor or program owner commits an incentive pool and approves the geography, participants, merchants, and rules.

2

Reach participants

Eligible residents receive or earn value through the distribution method chosen for the deployment.

3

Spend with local merchants

Participants use the program at eligible merchants. The acceptance rail can be a card, wallet, QR flow, merchant code, or another fit-for-purpose option.

4

Measure outcomes

Stabletown records program activity against the sponsor's rules so the operator can see participation, merchant reach, redemption, and local-spend outcomes.

Rail-neutral by design

The program comes first. The acceptance rail fits the place.

Stabletown defines who participates, which merchants qualify, how value is earned or distributed, where it can be used, and what gets measured. A deployment can use an existing community card, a wallet or pass, QR or merchant-code flows, card rails, or other compatible infrastructure without changing the program thesis.

Optional community priority

Broadband can be a goal, not a requirement.

Demo Town may choose to connect sponsor messaging or measurement to broadband, downtown recovery, workforce, tourism, or another community priority. The first Local Dollars node can also be a straightforward local-commerce program with no civic project attached.
